Stairway Access Tower

For both industrial and domestic use on staircases, the basic stairwell provides a platform level of 2.7m from the lowest step. The Unit itself is 0.7m wide and features a special narrow base plate, with adjustable legs and non-slip platform boards. The scaffolding has easy access from both sides of the stairwell unit to the platform is provided by a walk-through ladder frame.

How to use it?

Simply walk through the frame and climb the ladder, the frame is designed to access problems in high to reach areas above stairwells. An integrated access frame can be accessed and still be obtained on the staircase. If there is a requirement for access above this height, it is possible to adapt a standard Single Width Ladder Frame Tower to suit this application. Where possible, fit stabilises to both sides of the tower with a maximum sideways extension of 650mm, reaching down the stairs with a maximum distance of 650mm. The stairway tower should be tied down or tied to the side of the structure with a rigid two-way tie fastened to both uprights using double or swivel load bearing couplers.

Base Plates

The only base plates that are to be used on a tower erected on the stairs is a single width tower that can be built to 7.9m and a double width tower that can be built to at least 12.09m high.

Health and Safety

Never Climb onto the tower from the outside of the frame, as this can cause you to fall from a high distance. Always climb from within the structure itself, using the ladder that is provided with the scaffolding frame.
