For the UK scaffolding industry, 2019 saw a historic low in the number of accidents and injuries reported, with only 74 incidents logged by ‘Safety Scaffolding UK‘ that year.
A safety report released for a London site revealed that an impressive 99% of all employed operatives went through 2019 without a single injury. This marks the 7th consecutive year that this has been achieved. Unfortunately, 28 incidents were reported related to slips, trips and falls.
This is now the 15th year in a row that slips, trips and falls have been the main cause of injury to operatives. This accounts for 21% of injuries in 2019.
